The Flanders Collection Car in Flanders Expo in Ghent and the Brussels Collection Car in Brussels Kart Expo in Brussels are fairs on a European level for collectible vehicles like veteran cars, oldtimers, classic cars, real sportscars, etc.. and their spare parts, accessories, miniatures, literature, auto- and retromobilia, etc..
During each fair, an exhibition is organised around a certain theme. This can be a retrospective around a special make or a special theme like f.e. filmcars. For the first edition, the theme will be Porsche. More details can be found later under the link "Edition 2006"
But besides the exhibition, the most important thing is still the fair itself.. this is what the people are coming for. Hundreds of cars and hundreds of meters stands with old and new spare parts, miniatures, literature, etc..
Exiting is the yearly haggling for oldtimers and sportscars which are offered for sale. Many cars find a new owner on the fair itself. Prices are going from 1.500 euro to a hundredfold.
If the volume of the garage is interfering with another acquisition, there are still possibilities on the miniature market. There is an offer of thousands of miniature cars, going from the cheap mass-produced toys to the rare and expensive Dinky Toys.
Clubs are a valuable source of information on the fair. Here you find a lot of information about valuations, technical problems and/or where to find spare parts of a certain make.
Low fees are one of the important trumps of this fair. Thanks to the politics of low prices for stands, the Flanders Collection Car became the most commercial fair in Belgium. The new fair in Brussels will follow this example.
